COVID-19 & Your Dental Visit

January 31, 2024,

Normal operations have resumed.

Thank you, again, to our community for your support during a tumultuous few years. We are happy to have resumed normal operations at our practice.

  • We encourage staying up to date on vaccinations

  • We still provide hand sanitizers stations across the practice, and masks upon request

  • We still utilize HEPA air filtration and full sanitization between patients

If you are experiencing symptoms of illness such as fever, coughing, and sneezing, we ask that you provide us as much notice as possible to reschedule your appointment.

Dear Dental Family,

We're happy to announce that Lake Merritt Dental has reopened for routine hygiene appointments starting July 27th,2020. Thank you so much for your support during this difficult time.

Please note that as a result of COVID-19, we have updated some of our daily procedures. You'll still receive the same great service from our dedicated team, however, to ensure the safety of all our patients we've implemented the following changes:

  • Please give us a call or text when you arrive and we will let you know when to meet us at the door for check-in.

  • We will check your temperature when you arrive and provide hand sanitizer as well as a mask if you do not have one.

  • All cleanings will be performed with hand scaling only. To reduce the creation of aerosols, we will not be using the Piezo (the ultrasonic scaler) and we will not be polishing.

Please be assured that your hygiene care will be just as thorough as you would expect from your usual appointments.

Again, thank you so much for your support. We're happy to continue serving you, and can't wait to see your smile!

Sincerely,

Your dental family at Lake Merritt Dental

We are Open!

Dear Dental Family,
After several weeks of careful preparation, we are ready to receive you back into our practice with enhanced safety protocols and procedures! Thank you for your patience as we work through our backlog of patient and appointment requests. We know that you've been trying to reach out, and we will get back to you soon. During this time, we are still prioritizing emergency treatment, and delaying or reducing elective and routine care. We are carefully monitoring the amount of COVID-19 cases in Alameda County and heeding continued guidance from the department of public health to make decisions on best practices.  Our patient coordinators will be in touch to communicate new procedures, and we will also update them below on our website as they change.

We also want to proclaim our support for the social upheaval that has sprung from the repeated disregard for black lives in this country. We recognize that as a minority business owner, we are uplifted and able to do what we do because of the black struggle, and for that, we are immensely grateful. We honor and respect the courage and resilience of the black community, and we stand with you.

A Letter to our Patients

Dear Dental Family,

We hope you have been well and safe during this pandemic, and we apologize for any delays in responses to your messages in the past few weeks. We look forward to the day when we can see you again safely for your dental needs, as we are diligently working to gather crucial information to prepare for a safe return. Our tentative re-opening date is June 1, 2020

For the “new normal” way of dental care, we are being guided by the American Dental Association, California Dental Association and the California Department of Public Health to provide a safe and productive dental environment. During the last two weeks of May, our staff will be returning to the office and will be communicating with you about the changes that will take place in order to protect our patients and staff from the spread of the coronavirus. We will continue to update our COVID-19 webpage regarding measures we are implementing to maintain a sterile environment.

We will continue to be available via email and phone for communications. Please text us at 510-701-2520 directly if you have dental emergencies, and we will help you schedule a virtual visit with one of our dental providers.

Lastly, we want to thank our dental family, especially the essential workers who are out there, serving the public. Please continue to stay vigilant and practice social distance.  Let’s finish strong and overcome this pandemic together as a community.
